Hello Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward facing dog)
Taking care of your sticky yoga mat is essential to good hygiene no matter your yoga style and the postures you do… Don’t forget that every time you go to a yoga class or you practice at home, you drip a lot of sweets so it's important to clean your mat every time you roll it up.
That’s why I’m sharing my absolute favorite natural cleaning spray that you can whip up in less than 5 minutes and pack in your yoga bag. This an amazingly non-toxic and antibacterial spray for cleaning your mat.
For my yoga mat cleaner, I used this mixture:
4 cups of distilled or filtered water
1/4 cup of white vinegar (or Witch Hazel)
5 drops of Tea tree oil
3 drops of eucalyptus oil (optional)
3-4 drops of lemongrass or lemon essential oil, or any kind of essential oil you like (also optional)
Mix all the ingredients together in a measuring cup, and pour them into your spray bottle. Then you just need to spray over your mat and wipe it down with a clean cloth or towel, letting it air dry.
Note that the lavender essential oil is TOXIC for cats, although FRESH LAVENDER IS NOT. Also 100% undiluted tea tree oil is toxic for cats and dogs.
Enjoy!!!
